Hybrid lenses are lenses with a hard center (such as scleral lenses) and soft sides (such as soft lenses). These lenses combine the advantages of both types.
Hybrid contact lenses have a solid, gas-permeable central area, surrounded by a “rim” of hydrogel or silicone hydrogel. They are designed to provide comfort that rivals soft or silicone hydrogel lenses, combined with the completely clear rigid lens properties of GP lenses.
